You learn something new everyday....

It only really throws you for a loop when you learn it from your six year old :OP  At story time last night the story we read the person sneezed. AHHH AHHH KERCHOOOOOOO!!!!  "That's an Onomatopoeia!" Hannah exclaimed. I just looked at her. Okay so I have heard the word before, but I did not remember what it was, and frankly I was not convinced she was correct. She was! Onomatopoeia . Sure enough!  She also informed me on our walk around the block that we were not on a Road, it was just a street. How did she know, I of course asked. "Because there is not a yellow line in the middle of it... You still have to stay on the right side though mama."  Thank you for sharing your wisdom with me Hannah. Your a bright, Beautiful, smart, stunning young lady. Not a baby anymore, but still my baby no matter what. I love watching you grow into an amazing girl, and I love that you teach me things, I never learned in my own 29 years. You, are an awesome child. :)

What did you do this weekend?

Here is Hannah's answer for her school work:  I love it. Simply love it. This one is going in her box of stuff to keep for her :)  Cook with your kids. They enjoy it. It teaches them things they need to learn, and then since they helped you can make them help with dishes too!!!  Seriously though, I think it really makes an impact on your kids, for them to be in the kitchen!

Sounds Tasty!

Today before bed, the kids got a nighttime snack. Destiny was late getting to hers, and was looking in the fridge and in the cupboards explaining that we "have no food". Hannah told her "We have food, we have Cheese its, Chips, animal crackers... Chocolate rocks...."  WHAT? Chocolate ROCKS? Where?  She pointed to a big jar of Cocoa baked ALMONDS we have. I have given them to them in their lunches, and they are pretty crunchy. I guess she thought they were ROCKS! Good stuff. Sometimes they are so funny!!!

Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll

Oh wow. How life passes by so quickly. In just a blink of an eye kids grow. I found an old archive photo C.D. with pictures of my kids. I spent a good day going through the photos and just being in awe. How much I have changed, my husband, where we have lived, how we lived, mostly though, I was in awe over my kids.  At one point in time they KISSED each other!!! Loved each other, and would even pose and let me dress them up!!! That is no more! HA! Even my best friends kids I seen pictures of and its just like WOW. Its only been a few short years, and yet the kids used to be BABIES and now they are teens, tweens, in school, snotty and all that. No more babies.  I found out that my friends daughter, is now doing "grown up" things. Its her life, she's 16 (going on 24 right) and she thinks she knows it all, I remember being there, and I remember getting pregnant and not finishing school too. I knew the risks involved, I took the risks. It was my problem and although thi

Nursing In Public

Nursing. When I had my first child, I did not give it much of a try. It hurt, and I quit. Then it hurt even more!!! By time I matured some and got to my third child I gave it a much better go. I nursed Bailey for the first 6 weeks of his life, and then I went back to work, and daddy would feed him a bottle RIGHT Before mommy got home, he also slept through the night and so I was only nursing 1 or 2 times a day and I just stopped doing it.  Hannah though, my last. My baby. I wanted her to stay a baby forever. I also stayed home for the first 4 months of her life. I also read up quite a bit on why nursing was beneficial and I worked harder at it. I even got a breast infection and still nursed! In fact my baby girl was nursed until she was almost 2. Which meant I was an EXTENDED nurser, by today's standards.  I nursed in public, when she had to be fed. I normally used a blanket, I am very shy, or my breasts are anyway. Sometimes being discreet is not so easy, especially when yo

What an Egg Head!

Today was one of those days. I have a lot of those days. Maybe they are all those days. I am not sure. I was having withdrawals from diet coke, not because I am going off of it... Just because I was too lazy to go and get myself one to have. Sad that I can quit all bad things so easily, smoking (yes I smoked once for a while) biting my nails... but diet coke, I just cannot quit. No I can, I just choose not to. I have quit before, but its hard, and I am not a very pleasent person to be around in the meantime.  So who's the egg head? Destiny. I was doing something, so I asked her if she could start some eggs on to boil for me. She was full of questions, like what size pan should I use, where are the pans at?? (where are the pans at!!??) It kind of annoyed me, remember diet coke w/d's... "I need you to get a pan, put 5 or 6 eggs in it and fill it with water, your going to need to have enough water to COVER the eggs, so I would suggest a sauce pan."  Some time goes b

Its only OCTOBER!!!

It is So cold here right now. Were in ARKANSAS people. I remember many a Halloween walking around in SHORTS! C'mon!!! What is going on! As I type this (at 2am) its 45degrees outside... That is just over 10 degrees above FREEZING!!!! That is NOT October in Arkansas weather! NO NO NO.  I had prided myself on the fact that for that last month I did not turn on my a/c ONCE. The month prior to that, it was only on when I had to run the oven. So what did I have to do today? I had to turn on the HEAT!  YES THE HEAT! I hate the smell of the heat the first time you turn it on... and remember, this home was EMPTY for at least a year before we moved into it, so it was that smell x10 Ick. Anyway I turned it on, and it works, so that is a big plus :) Its an old furnace. It warmed the house up and then I turned it back off! LOL. Well not off, but down to 60, so it will not get colder than that, in the house. That should work, for now. Soon we will get a fire going in the fire place. Need some

Kids are so cute!

When they are sleeping!! I went into the girl's bedroom this morning to put something away, and Hannah looked so sweet, and tiny, curled up all tucked in in her big bed... I kissed her and was tempted to just wake her up and squish her... But I know what happens when they are awake :OP  Today has been a productive day thus far. I got up, took the kitteh to the vet to get his "man hood" removed from him. We do not need anymore unwanted kittens in this world and I feel like a very responsible pet owner to have him done, and all of our other pets as well. Enough tooting of my own horn though.  After that I had to take Promise to the orthodontist, she got her separators put in, to make room for the soon to be placed expander. Woot! She did really well. I guess they had to make molds of her teeth and that was "yucky" because the rubbery stuff tasted bad :OP  So after that I rushed to work (but did not speed) and did my stuff there, the soda machine was out, so

Friends!

Well after yesterday Bailey was "bored" all day and talking about how our house is not as "fun" as the apartments were... He found a buddy. They live right behind us, our fences join us. Yesterday they finally talked, and it was so cute, they sat there for about 3 hours each on a chair on their side of the fence, just talking.  Today Bailey was invited to come over and play in his backyard! They played soccer, they played on the swing set, Bailey brought over his 2 wheeled skate board thingy... He was over there for at least 2 hours playing! It was nice. He had a good time. Then it started to rain and his friend had to go in, so he came home.  There is also a girl over there that is Promises age. So now only Hannah is lacking. She has a buddy across the street, but they are pretty strict with her, and she has homework all the time and not a lot of time to play I guess. She does not come over much and when we go there, she cannot come out to play.  The kids ar

OCTOBER FIRST!

Wow. Just starting October and I have already started filling in the calender with apts and things. Sheesh!  Today was Promise's ortho consultation, again. She has lost 2 baby teeth and her big teeth are being HARMED By the way they set in her mouth so braces are needed sooner, not later. Go figure of the 26 points needed for Arkids to pay, she has 22. Apparently OVERBITES get the most points and that, is the only thing Promise does not have.  Yes its going to be a lot of money and I was REALLY hoping that we could pay of Destiny's before having to start paying on Promises, but I cannot, simply cannot let her teeth be ruined, and I can see self esteem problems in her already, she sometimes tries to hide her smile, and I hate that. I cannot wait, simply cannot WAIT to see her smile all straightened out! I am excited! OH and I also get to torture her with TURNS OF THE EXPANDER HAHAHAHAH. :)  So the day before Halloween, "hallows' eve" she will have them put o
