Starting Over

Its a new year, time to start new years resolutions that no one normally keeps, yet each year we think of more things about ourselves we want to change, or things we want to do and set out, with the new year to do them... This year will be no different.  This year I would like to do the following:  Get down to my goal weight (lose about 30 pounds)  not drink ANY diet coke all year  Keep up with the 365 self portrait group I joined on flickr  quit saying the F word  To just be more thankful for what I have  So will I do it? Here's to hoping! :)  Good luck everyone with whatever changes you hope to make, but remember, you do not need the new year to start, if you fall off, just get back on, tomorrow is just as good of a start as today! Cheers, and lets make 2010 our best year ever!!!!

What time IS it?

Telling Time. So much fun. Kids always want to know what time it is. How long until bed, when will dinner be done, when do I get a turn on the computer??? For Christmas Bailey got his sisters, and himself, each a new watch. This, so far has been quite the hit by all but Destiny... who has her phone to tell her the time I suppose.  Anyway when setting the watches I went by the clock on my stove. I set Bailey's and then Hannah's. So they are, I suppose a good 30-60 seconds off from each other, and from the stoves clock.  "its 3:05" Bailey stated yesterday afternoon. "No, its 3:04." Hannah corrected him. Looking at the oven clock Bailey said again "No, its 3:05" Of course they agree to DISAGREE for life so this was not right. Hannah has to be right and so does Bailey... "Fine then." Bailey says "Ask Father Time!!!".  With the most serious look Hannah says "Well what if his clock is off too?"  Does anybody really

scrapbooking!

As if I needed something else to take up my time right. Yeah. So my BFF started scrapbooking and she's all excited about her first page... Then my Daughter got a TON of scrapbooking stuff for Christmas from Santa and her dad... and well I DO love photography and well, scrapbooking is done with PICTURES.... So Promise has shared a book with me.... I started today my first page. A page of our family faces. And so its titled "FAMILY FACES" So its not the greatest, or most creative, but its got me started. Now I want to get more stuff and scrapbook my heart out!!! This could be bad :OP~~

So you clean the house....

And then the kids decide to make the ginger bread houses their uncle bought them. (thanks again, btw, uncle john) tee hee. All this attention to detail, getting the roof up, walls straight, frosting opened, candies stuck on.... What did they do when it was finished???? Took a picture and then broke it apart, and ATE it! Oh and of course left the mess for me to clean up. What fun.  So the weekend is over. I am both happy and sad. Sad because I feel like I am still needing to catch up on the sleep lost Christmas eve... Happy because I can make some MONEY again at work, and that is never a bad thing! The weekend seemed to last forever, and also flew by before I realized it. Christmas is over. Wow.  Our tree is down, our trash is full, our toys have all been played with, and our ham has just been used in leftovers... Its almost a new year. 2010. Crazy.

Merry Christmas

Well its come and gone. Santa made his way in, and was thankful that this year we had a chimney to come down instead of having to come through the door. Made him feel more "santa like".  The kids awoke at 3am looking to see Santas goodies he might have left... Oh boy. That made for an early day for mom... I think I am still needing to catch up!!! We even got a white Christmas this year!!!  I feel very blessed to have the family I have, and the friends that I have. This has been a very good year, and I am sad to see it almost at an end, but I am also happy to have this new start. A new year is always a nice new start, time to make resolutions you won't (or might) keep.  So Merry Christmas to all my friends, family and to everyone!!!

I'm tall... For an Elf

My dearest mother found this "darling" hat the other day and HAD to buy it for me. It is an elf hat, with a jingle bell on top. Whats more? When you push this magical button the bell part of the hat goes back and forth (like a dog tail wagging) and it sings a song about how "WE ARE SANTA'S ELVES" and oh yes, it also lights up. Yes siree.  So my dearest mother seen this hat and apparently KNEW I would love to have it. Don't get me wrong, its cute, but oh my. I wore it to work today and I was the life of the party, they were all laughing WITH me right???  So after work, I wanted to join the land of crazy folks and make a last ditch run to the store... Well this elf hat, had been on my head for the last 4 hours, and my hair underneath was worse, and more embarrassing than the hat. So into Sam's Club for just a few last minuet tid bits I went... Elf hat on my head.  I got a few funny looks, many smiles (yay Christmas spirit!) It was a great time. S

Who's Your Daddy???

So I am a waitress. For those who might be unaware. I have been a waitress, most of my working life now. I am good at it and most the time I love it, so its what I do.    Now when you are a waitress nine times out of ten you do not know the people you are waiting on names. So you say "Sir, would you like a refill on your drink?" "Ma'am, can I take your plate?" "How is everything going today ladies?" Ect ect. Generall names that could apply to pretty much anyone. Right?  Lately my new thing has been calling parents that come in with a child "mom, and dad" "Ok dad and what do you want on your pizza today?" ect ect. Seemed to have worked out okay and I do not feel like such a broken record. Plus I often get the "DONT CALL ME MA'AM it makes me feel old" so its like what DO I call you???  Yesterday a group of men came in, in hunting attire. Four of them, then a few moments later, a man and his daughter came and joine

Its the most... Buisiest Time of the Year!!!

Wow. December has flown by. This year has flown by. As have the last seven. My baby, turned seven yesterday. She promised me when she was little, that she would stay that way. I am very disappointed in her for fibbing. What can you do. Time keeps on ticking and there is nothing you can do to stop that. Its a wonderfully sad thing. Some days I long for a house to myself with no pitter patter (if that is what you want to call it) and other times when they are away I ache for them to be home and making some noise so badly and wonder how my life will go on without that same pitter patter that drives me insane.  Not only did my baby grow up overnight some how, but this is the month of Christmas! Santa is coming in just four more short days!!! How exciting. Of course the older two girls no longer believe, but the little ones do and the wonder and excitement is so cool. We went to see Santa the other day. He was spot on with the boy. Telling him he was proud of how good he was doing in

A very big day today!

Today my boys had to get up at 3am and leave for Little Rock Children's Hospital.  Bailey had the surgery to remove the port that was put in just over 5 years ago for his chemo and blood work and IV fluids. He has done so well, been in remission for 5 years this new years eve!!! So we no longer need the port in place! Today is a very big day. Nearly as big as when he ate his last chemo pill!!!  That little boy has come a long way. Such a long way. Faced so many scary things, and never seemed to let it affect who he is and who he will be. Now that his port is gone, there is NOTHING about him that is any different from any other child out there!  He's such a big boy and he is truly my biggest hero. I love my boo and cannot wait to have him and daddy back home from Children's safe and sound, and get the first "portless" hug from my boy in 5 years!  Of course, because he is a boy, he wanted to save it. So there it is. The thing that allowed him many dose

K-I-S-S-I-N-G

The Rogers Christmas parade was tonight. A few years ago we went, and nearly froze to death and I have not been with the kids since then, but this year, well my favorite boyscout was on a float, so we "had" to watch :) Why is it the parade seems to fall on the coldest day of the year? Can't they have it in JUNE or something?   So were watching the parade, when I look behind me, and there, sitting against a light post, is a young couple. Not watching the parade, but kissing. Majorly kissing. Like they were the only 2 people at the parade kissing. Destiny yelled out "GET A ROOM"  which was very very funny. They stopped and kept it to just cuddling at that point.  Suddenly I was reminiscing. I remember those days. When making out, kissing, touching and being as close as possible as much as possible was so awesome. So awesome. I remember my best friend getting SO mad at me because I was always making out with my boyfriend and NOT paying attention to her. I reme
