I'm tall... For an Elf

My dearest mother found this "darling" hat the other day and HAD to buy it for me. It is an elf hat, with a jingle bell on top. Whats more? When you push this magical button the bell part of the hat goes back and forth (like a dog tail wagging) and it sings a song about how "WE ARE SANTA'S ELVES" and oh yes, it also lights up. Yes siree.

So my dearest mother seen this hat and apparently KNEW I would love to have it. Don't get me wrong, its cute, but oh my. I wore it to work today and I was the life of the party, they were all laughing WITH me right???

So after work, I wanted to join the land of crazy folks and make a last ditch run to the store... Well this elf hat, had been on my head for the last 4 hours, and my hair underneath was worse, and more embarrassing than the hat. So into Sam's Club for just a few last minuet tid bits I went... Elf hat on my head.

I got a few funny looks, many smiles (yay Christmas spirit!) It was a great time. Sam's was busy with the hustle bustle of Christmas last minueters :OP~~

I get into the check out lane. Cart filled with a giant thing of cheese balls, almonds, hot cocoa mix, rolls, sugar snap peas, mushrooms and a six pound can of peanut butter. Yeah, just the essentials... I get in line behind a lady with 2 very cute, red and white stripped dressed little ones.

As I am standing there I see her lean over to her little ones and whisper "Oh lookie! One of Santa's Elves are out shopping!!!" Of course both kids, eyes wide look straight at me and wave and smile... Oh BOY! I am santa's elf. My hat even says so (thanks mom).

So I smile and wave back, being the happy little elf that I am... The mom explains how I must be getting ready for Santas departure and getting some last moment things... Oh yes exactly, santa needs his almonds and peanut butter and all....  So all was going well, until the little girl says "ALL of santa's elves are that small!"

I felt I HAD to tell her... "Oh no, actually I am one of the TALLEST of Santa's elves!" HA! I am, afterall, tall, for an elf.

Ahh a fresh new week.

It is Monday. Daylight savings gave me this extra hour of sleep and a bright sunny morning to wake up to. The weekend is behind me now along with that UNGODLY busy week. My best friend is home from her camping trip, I have learned how to use, and LOVE my new phone... All feels right with the world!  Over the weekend Destiny was gone. It was kind of quiet around here, but Promise made sure to make up for the crankiness and teenager (esq) that might be lacking in the household. Thank you Promise. Your just too kind.  Rooster boy came and stayed the night. Not sure why but my son always has these strange thoughts he thinks are good ideas when rooster boy stays... Not saying its rooster boy, my son even admitted it was his own idea, I just think when boys get together, they lose all ability to ration out what is a good and what is a bad idea.  So what was the bright idea this weekend? To "splatter paint" A bowling pin . I guess I should be happy, that at least ...

So Whats up with my oddly normal life?

Huh huh? Cus it seems that I am never ever updating my blog these days. I am such a sloth!  Things happen and I think how I should blog about them and then I figure they are not really so interesting if you were not here. Then I remember I blog for me, not really for someone else. I want to be able to remember things, to come back and go oh yeah... Those were the days. Or whatever. I can't do that if I don't blog it.  I am going to try to be more regular with the blogs again, even if its what I made for dinner, and  how my husband kept me up snoring. If it doesn't interest you, you don't have to read it right!? :)  So whats been going on? the kids are growing. I got contacts, I am not sure how I feel about them just yet. Sometimes they are great, and sometimes I feel like I have an eye full of hair. Sometimes I can see great with them in, and other times everything is blurrier than when I had  them out. Meanwhile I wear my scratched up glasses while ...

Its not always 50/50

Sometimes one person has to hold up more weight than the other does. Lately I feel as though I am that person holding the extra weight. Lately I have been wishing I was not that person. I feel like I am being spread a bit too thin... I also feel like no matter how many times I try to explain myself, it does not matter.  So I will just keep waiting, and hopefully eventually someone will come and take a few books off of my stack. Take a load off. Help me out. Chip in. You get it? I am sure you do. Now if only other people did as well.  God doesnt give you more than you can handle. I wonder sometimes if He thinks the load he's giving me is being more evenly distributed than it is... Maybe he can review my case :)
